Tallinn – Nissan was the winner of several awards during the recent Car of The Year 2024 ceremonies in Latvia and in Lithuania. The ceremonies concluded the finalization of several months of testing and feedback from a full automotive media group in the two countries. As for the well-known official World and European Car of The year competitions, the national competitions also follow rules and regulations with regards to which cars are eligible to attend.
Media then test the cars throughougly – by themselves, but also via specially organized events for the jury. They then give individual points to the different car models in the competition. The main prize is the overall "Car of The Year 2024" title, which Nissan was awarded in both Latvia and Lithuania. There are also category prizes and in Latvia Nissan X-Trail was also awarded with the innovation award, highlighting the innovative e-POWER drivetrain, as well as the 4x4 award for the new e-4ORCE four-wheel drive system Nissan launched and has received praise for around the world: "Latvian Car of the Year 2024 Innovation Award" & "Latvian 4x4 SUV 2024" winner.
Henri Daum, Marketing Manager for Nissan in the three Baltic countries, was present to accept the awards during the Latvian ceremony. Valdas Valiukevicius, President of the association Lithuanian Journalists Auto Club, says this about Nissan X-Trail: "An unexpectedly pleasant discovery from Nissan - it has and does everything. It is also a pleasant everyday car that drives softly in the city. It's an all-terrain vehicle, an off-road trick without a doubt. The innovative hybrid drive allows you to enjoy the traction of electric motors, quiet driving and fuel economy".
